The third edition of this work, which is very scarce in all editions.
In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the term “vade mecum” (Latin for “go with me”) was popularly used in the titles of practical compendiums designed to be constant personal reference guides.
This volume features a calendar for twenty years, a table of interest, commission and brokerage tables, tables of foreign currency, charts of weights and measures, hackney carriage fares, principal travelling routes, and other useful pieces of information for navigating 19th century society.

Condition
In a full calf binding. Light rubbing to boards, joints, back strip head and tail. A touch of worming to rear joint. Hinges strained, with boards firmly held. Inscription to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with the odd light handling mark.
