Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Rebound

First book edition. Complete in two volumes, not including the supplements. First serialised in nineteen parts from 1835.

This is one of the best-known works of William Yarrell, a prominent English zoologist and author widely recognised by his peers for his precise scientific work.

Serving as a descriptive field guide for every type of fish found in the British Isles, with an article for each species, this popular work draws on Yarrell's own extensive library as well as his wide network of naturalist friends. This title became the standard reference work for a generation of British ichthyologists.

Condition
