    A mixed edition set, consisting of: volume I in the 1848 fourth edition; volume II in the 1838 third edition; volume III in the 1840 third edition; volume IV in the 1846 second edition; volume V in the 1836 first edition, and volume VI in the 1840 first edition.

    Illustrated with fifty-five engraved maps and plans across all six volumes. Collated, complete.

    Bound without the half title.

    With the armorial bookplate of Bernard Thomas Hutton Croft to each front pastedown.

    A wonderful work of military history.

    Condition

    Bound in half calf with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, very good, with light rubbing to the joints and extremities, and a few marks to boards. Slight fading to the spine and some discolouration to calf. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with a few areas of light scattered spotting. Bookseller label of Sotheran to the front free endpaper.
