    This work details the Poor Law Commission and the creation of the Poor Law Amendment Act of 1834, which led to the establishment of unions and workhouses. 

    Effects and factors of the laws are explored here, such as labour-rate, effects on employers and occupation of land. 

    Towards the rear of the work are supplements and a full index.

    Condition

    In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart. With darkening to the spine and marks to the boards. Moderate rubbing and bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the spine head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with scattered spots to the first and last few leaves.
