A desirable volume containing four very scarce meteorology reports, extracted from various journals, magazines and reports where they were issued. With three written by American meteorologist William Charles Redfield and one by Irish geophysicist Edward Sabine. 

Bound together here in half calf, with a spine title label. Also charmingly fitted with a slip to the rear pastedown holding a clear wind compass. 

Redfield was the first president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Sabine was was the 30th president of the Royal Society, particularly noted for leading the effort in establishing a system of magnetic observations in various parts of British territory all over the globe.

Condition

Bound in half calf, with marbled paper covered boards and a spine title label. Externally, heavily rubbed to the extremities, however hinges and joints remain firm. Bookplate of Wm Dillworth Howard to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a few scattered spots, most concentrated to 'Gales and Hurricanes' report and folding map.
