    The English Version of the Polyglott Bible, published by Samuel Bagster, containing the Old and New Testaments with a comprehensive corpus of cross-references to parallel and illustrative passages.

    Designed for study and comparison, it presents the Authorized King James text accompanied by a unique and innovative system of marginal references, “exhibited in a manner hitherto unattempted.”

    Samuel Bagster (1772–1851) was a pioneering London publisher renowned for his scholarly and multilingual Bibles.

    Condition

    Bound in a handsome full morocco binding, complete with a lovely morocco clamshell chemise. Externally, very smart. very slight rubbing to extremities, resulting in slight fading to morocco. Clamshell slipcase smart, slight rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in slight loss to morocco. Slight rubbing to boards. Previous owner's contemporary ink inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot to first and last few leaves, with one or two spots to fore edge.
