This set includes; ‘Vol XIX April 6, 1833 - September 28, 1833’ (No. 504- 529), ‘Vol. XXIII April 4 - Sept 25, 1835’ (No. 608-633), ‘Vol. XXV April 9-Sept 30 (incorrectly titled Sept 24), 1836’ (No. 661-686), ‘Vol. XXVI Oct 1 - March 31, 1837’, (No. 687-712) ‘Vol. XXVIII October 7th 1837 - March 31st, 1838’, (No. 739-764) ‘Vol. XXXIV January 2nd, 1841 - June 26th, 1841’, (No. 908- 933) ‘Vol. XLVII July 3rd - December 25th 1847 (incorrectly titled as ‘Vol XLI’ . (No. 1248-1272) ‘Vol. XLVI January 2nd - June 26th, 1847’, (No. 1221-1246) ‘Vol XLIX July 1st - December 30th, 1848’, No. 1299- 1325) ‘Vol L. January 6th - June 30th, 1849’, (No. 1326-1351) ‘Vol LI. July 7th - December 29th, 1849’, (No. 1356-1377) Illustrated with numerous monochrome vignettes, and a folding plate of signatures to ‘Vol LI’, and monochrome frontispieces to ‘Vol XXIII’, ‘Vol XXV’, ‘Vol XXVI’.
Volume XXVIII features a photocopied title and contents pages. Volume XLI is lacking pp. 121-217 (No. 1252-1255). Volume LI is lacking pp. 1-96. (Starting at No. 1356 August 4th). Volume XLIX is lacking pp. 217-336, (No. 1308-1812), and pp. 433-528, (No. 1317-1320).
Bound in contemporary half calf with marbled paper to the boards.
Condition
Bound in contemporary half calf with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, spines faded and marked with rubbing to the joints and extremities, marks to the boards, and cracking to the front joint to 'Vol XXVI', and to the spines. Internally lacking several issues, otherwise firmly bound, with bright pages and light spotting. Closed tear to the folding plate.
