The second edition of this work to be illustrated by George Cruikshank.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, engraved title, and five plates. Collated, complete. 

A collection of fifteen poetical letters showing a satirical view of the fashionable live in Bath in the eighteenth century, following the adventures of three naive children of a Northern squire whilst on a visit to the city.

This was Christopher Anstey's most popular work, and he never quite recaptured the success of this work, which was constantly in print during his lifetime.

This edition with a biographical and topographical preface by John Britton.

Condition

In a quarter calf binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, smart. Spine is faded. Rubbing and a small amount of loss to the spine label. Minor bumping to the extremities. A couple of light marks to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with only a few scattered spots.
