Henry Nelson Coleridge was a writer and barrister, best known as the editor of the works of his uncle Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
In 1825 he accompanied his other uncle, William Hart Coleridge, the bishop of Barbados, to the West Indies, describing his time there in this lively travelogue. Within, he discusses his excursions to Barbados, Trinidad, Grenada, St. Lucia, and Antigua, with one of the last chapters dedicated to his views on planters and abolition of slavery.
Condition
In half crushed morocco, with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, with only slight cocking to the spine, otherwise excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot to the first and last few pages. Offsetting to the title page and spotting to the folding frontispiece.
