First Edition, Uncommon

An uncommon French first edition of this play by Casamir Delavigne. Delavigne was a writer of some note in 19th Century Paris, with some regarding him as a "founder of the second French Theatre". He would later write the words to La Parisienne, which rivalled the Marseillaise in popularity at the time.

Condition

In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally sound, there is some rubbing and wear to the extremities, boards and backstrip. Internally, the pages are firmly bound but feature foxing and water damage throughout. The text is nonetheless clear.
