What Our Customers Say...
Description
Very Scarce
A very scarce work in a half calf binding with the original boards and the calf corners removed. Ink inscription to the front free end paper. The first to the 150th psalm of the psalms of David, with words selected from the authorised version of the Church of England and music by the "best composers, ancient and modern". These music scores have been arranged and harmonised for one, two and three voices by Doctor John Smith, who was the Vicar Choral of St. Patrick's Cathedral. Chants for morning and evening service are included. This is now a very scarce find. Undated, dated through copies held at the University of Cambridge Libraries.
Condition
In a half calf binding with the original boards and the calf corners removed. Externally sound, though rubbed to the spine, and somewhat worn to the boards, obscuring the odd couple of words. Paper to the lower corner of the front board is lifting slightly. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned, with faint offsetting.
