A lovely biography from Sunderland-born hunter-naturalist Abel Chapman, who is remembered for having helped in the establishment of South Africa's first game reserve. Chapman provides accounts of salmon fishing, game and waterfowl shooting, encounters with lions, and discussion of his travels in Egypt, Africa and Europe.
