Hazlitt had a deep interest in the lives of painters in their old age, and thus began to spend time with James Northcote, making notes from their conversations about life. Written by William Hazlitt, an English essayist, literary critic, painter and philosopher, widely regarded as one of the greatest critics in the history of the English language. Bound by Riviere & Son.

Condition

Bound in full calf. Externally, smart with light rubbing and fading to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and the odd pencil annotation. Pencil inscriptions to the endpapers. Bound by Riviere & Son.
