A sammelband of thirteen very scarce religious pamphlets, an intriguing anthology of sermons by various eminent Reverends. Five of the thirteen pamphlets are signed.

'A Sermon Recommending the Establishment, in the Hundred of Gartree, in the County of Leicester, of a Society Auxiliary to the Society in London, For Increasing the Comforts and Bettering the Condition of the Poor', published by J. Hatchard and Sons in London in 1830.

‘Trinity College Commemoration Sermon Preached in the College Chapel, December 15, 1838’, by Reverend William Whewell.

‘On Modern Catholicism’. Signed to the Marquess of Northampton by the author.

The Marquess at this time was Spencer Compton, 2nd Marquess of Northampton, a patron of science and the arts.

Condition

In a half morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, a little rubbed. Spine is a little faded. Minor bumping to the extremities. Ink to the verso of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some scattered spots.
