Illustrated, Rebound

Five volumes of 'The Mechanics' Magazine, Museum, Register, Journal, and Gazette', bound in four volumes.

Present here are volumes X, XVI, XXVII, XLII and XLIV, with issues dated between 1828 and 1846.

With vignette illustrations throughout. Featured illustrations include depictions of Butler's registered furnace bridge, Captain Ericsson's screw propellor, Wylam's hydraulic press, and Claussen's improvements in weaving looped fabrics

Volume X, No. 260, August 2 1828 to No. 287, February 7 1829. Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece.

Volume XVI, No. 425 October 1 1831 to No. 451, March 31 1832.

Volume XXVII, No. 713 April 8 1837 to No. 738 September 30 1837. Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece.

Volume XLII, No. 1117 January 4 1845 to No. 1141 June 21 1845.

Volume XLIV, No. 1143 July 5 1845 to No. 1185 April 25 1846.

An interesting snapshot of the scientific and technological developments of this period towards the end of the Industrial Revolution.

Condition

Rebound in cloth, with endpapers renewed. A touch of shelf wear to tail of two volumes, otherwise externally excellent. Light pencil inscriptions to the rear endpapers. Internally, firmly bound, but with vol XLIV title page detached and loosely inserted. Pages bright and generally clean, with the odd handling mark and spot.
