The works of English statesman, soldier, writer and explorer, Sir Walter Raleigh, including his important work 'The History of the World'. This particular book was written during Raleigh's imprisonment in the Tower of London, with its contents covering the creation of the world up until to 146 BC, intending to show history as a moral lesson. 'The History of the World' was first published in 1614.

Volume IV: History of the World. Book II, Chap. 13, 5-28.

Condition
Bound in full half calf. Externally, generally smart, with rubbing to the extremities. Joints are cracked to most volumes, with hinges strained, with the front board tenderly held to volumes III, IV and V. Boards to volumes I and VIII have been rebacked with the spine laid down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with the odd spot.
