Illustrated with an engraved title page, and eighty further engraved plates.

Collated, complete.

With original drawings by Thomas H. Shepherd, and text by James Elmes.

The authors published a similar volume, titled 'Metropolitan Improvements or London in the Nineteenth Century'.

Presenting London in the early part of the Industrial Revolution.

Condition

In a full morocco binding with gilt detailing to board perimeters, and blind tooling to centre of boards. A touch of fading to back strip, with small losses of calf to back strip head. A touch of rubbing to joints, with hinges reinforced. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, with instances of spotting and foxing throughout. Small loss to tail of title page. Light tide mark to title page head.
