A detailed biography of the life of Scottish poet and lyricist Robert Burns, known familiarly as Rabbie Burns.

With the armorial bookplate of novelist Sir Hugh Walpole to the front pastedown, which appears alongside his gilt stamped 'Brackenburn' bookplate. With a typed label to the head of the front pastedown reading 'from Hugh Walpole's Library, with his bookplate'.

Sir Hugh Walpole was one of the most popular and prolific authors of the first half of the 20th Century.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Fading to back strip and spine label. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Front hinge strained, and somewhat tender to tail. Bookplates and typed label to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Light tide marks to engraved and letterpress title page. Pages otherwise clean and bright.
