This is an instructional manual designed to teach double-entry bookkeeping in a clear, systematic way.

The work includes model transactions, account books, and step-by-step explanations tailored for merchants, shopkeepers, and clerks, reflecting the commercial practices of early 19th century England.

With contemporary inscriptions to a front blank from Anthony Jepson, 1831, and William Jepson, 1833.

Condition

In a contemporary half calf bindings, with marbled paper covered boards. Significant rubbing to calf. Small losses of calf to back strip head and tail, with closed tears to back strip. Joints starting, with boards firmly held. Inscription to a front blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, with spotting throughout. Ink handling marks to final few leaves.
