New edition. With a folding plate to the front of the text. Collated complete. This extensive volume is a historical account of the lives, characters and works of the most eminent persons in every age and nation, partially those from Great Britain and Ireland. Produced by John Watkins, an English philosopher and professor.

Condition

Rebacked in full brown calf. Externally, smart with light wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and marks to the boards. A small puncture mark to the rear board. Front hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot and age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown.
