A fascinating, early nineteenth-century memoir of French Sergeant "Robert Guillemard", the pseudonym of Alexandre Lardier, detailing his campaigns in Italy, Spain, Germany, and Russia from 1805 to 1823.
This memoir includes important military events that Sergeant Guillemard was a part of, including the Battle of Trafalgar, adventures in Corsica, and his return to France in 1822.
Condition
Bound in full tree calf. Externally, a little worn, with the front board almost detached, held on by two cords only. Rear hinge has a small crack to the head. Rubbing to the joints and extremities. Small chip to spine label. Front endpaper and blank are a little strained. Otherwise, internally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, a touch age toned with the odd spot.
