Scarce

An important snapshot of a crucial period. Rather scarce. Volume the First and Volume the Second. "Embracing exclusive and authentic reports of the lectures delivered at the London Mechanics' Institution by the most eminent professors." The book is comprised of lectures from many different Professors and experts on subjects ranging from Architecture to the sense of taste. Illustrated by Numerous Engravings. The detached, and in several pieces, remains of the missing spine of Volume Two are included in a small envelope.

Condition

In the original publisher's binding. Externally, marks and spots to the boards, with some bumping. The backstrips are missing. The rear boards are held by one cord only, and the front boards are detached. Internally, generally firmly bound, although exposed cords as expected from missing spines. There is intermittent light browning and the occasional spot or mark. There are some marginal tidemarks to volume two.
