'Metropolitan Improvements, or, London in the Nineteenth Century', 1827, is illustrated with an engraved title page, letterpress title page, frontispiece, and seventy-nine plates.
'London and its Environs in the Nineteenth Century', 1829, is illustrated with a frontispiece, engraved title page, and seventy-nine further plates.
Collated, complete.
Written by James Elmes, a noted architect and civil engineer, and illustrated by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd.

Rebound in half calf, with marbled paper covered boards, and with endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, with spotting and instances of foxing to leaves facing plates, and to plate perimeters.
