First edition. Scarce work. With a frontispiece and illustrated title page. A memoir of Henry Kirke White, an English poet and hymn-writer who died at the young age of twenty-one after his health deteriorated due to tuberculosis. With examples of his literary works, including: To My Lyre; An Ode, To an Early Primrose, The Lullaby of a Female Convict to Her Child, An Ode to the Moon, and To Contemplation, amongst others.
Condition
Bound in full calf with gilt. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light spotting to the endpapers with a contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper.
