First edition. Very scarce work. A collection of poetry on religious themes, with contributions from authors including: Burns, Cowper, Kirke White, Millman, Robinson, Wesley, and more. With a collection of anonymous pieces. Previously held in the St. Mark's Library, New York.
Condition
Bound in full modern cloth. Externally, sound with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Minor discolouration to the spine and board edges with the odd small mark. Minor loss to the spine labels with a small puncture mark to the spine. A split to the front joint with board held by cords only. Rear hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light spotting to the first and last few pages. Library ink stamp and contemporary ink inscription to the title page and reverse of the title page. With the odd small contemporary ink annotation to the pages. Library bookplates to the front pastedown, front free endpaper, and rear pastedown. With an ink stamp to the front free endpaper.
