    Brown was the professor of moral philosophy at the University of Edinburgh for a decade. He was renowned for his structured thinking and metaphysical analysis.

    Condition

    In a full tree calf binding. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to the joints and extremities. A few minor marks to the boards and spines, a little heavier to the boards of Volume II. A little light bumping to the extremities. Hinges of Volume I are starting but firm. Institutional label to the paste downs. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper. Small patch of worming to the front paste down of Volume I, and to the rear paste down of Volume III. Small chip to the rear endpaper of Volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with scattered spots.
