Laurence Sterne (1713–1768), clergyman and novelist, was both celebrated and controversial for the wit, sentimentality, and irreverence of his works.
Condition
Bound in straight grained morocco. Externally, smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities, more so to joints, resulting in slight loss to morocco, more so to spines. Spines faded. The odd slight handling mark and scratch to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, if typically age toned, with the odd scattered spot to first and last few leaves and one or two spots to fore edges.
