    Description

    First Edition, Leather Binding

    The first edition, first issue, without 'The End' or an imprint to page 188.

    Though dated 1823 to the title page, this work was actually published on the 23rd November 1822.

    Lord Byron's poetical play, a retelling of 'German's Tale, Kruitzner', from Harriet Lee's 'Canterbury Tales', which has first been published in 1801.

    This is one of Byron's lesser known works, and was not as well-received when first published as his other works.

    Half-title is present.

    Seven pages of adverts to the rear, dated November 1822.

    Condition

    In a full calf binding. Externally, smart. Spine is a little faded. Only a few very light marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, a little discolouration and small marks to the extremities of the first and last few pages.
