    First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Very Scarce

    Volume III only of a periodical that only ever reached three volumes, and was published between 1820 and 1822.

    Present here is volume III, which features all twelve 1822 monthly issues, from vol III no XXV, January 1822, to vol III no XXXVI, December 1822.

    Illustrated with eleven engraved plates of country houses. Collated, lacking the frontispiece and general title page.

    This third volume beards the title 'The Lonsdale Magazine, or Kendal Repository', where volumes I and II were titled 'The Lonsdale Magazine, or Provincial Repository'.

    A topographical and biographical periodical, featuring 'Critiques upon New Works, Literary, Scientific, and Philosophical Essays, Original Poetry, Entertaining Tales and Anecdotes, Commercial and Miscellaneous Intelligence'.

    Lacking the boards.

    Condition

    Lacking the boards, with a calf back strip. Losses of leather at back strip head and tail. Vertical split to centre of back strip. Lacking endpapers. Lacking frontispiece and title page. Internally, binding generally firmly held, with one plate detached and loosely inserted. Pages age toned, with spotting and instances of foxing, most concentrated to leaves surrounding plates.
