Written by William Kitchiner, the inventor of telescopes. He is best known for his 1817 cookbook 'The Cook's Oracle'.

Bookplate of Thomas Tayspill of Hythe, Colchester, to the front paste down. 

Twelve pages of adverts to the front.

Condition

In the original paper covered boards, neatly rebacked. Externally, generally smart. Light marks and spots to the boards and spine. Spine label is age-toned and worn with loss. Bumping to the extremities. Loss to the tail of the front board and head of the rear board. Tidemark to the rear board. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots.
