It surveys the city’s major sites, including temples, palaces, gardens, and walls, while interweaving accounts of their cultural significance, legends, and ceremonial functions.

Bredon lived in China for many years.

Condition

In the publisher's original silk cloth binding. Externally, exceptionally vibrant. Bump to back strip head and tail, with light fraying of cloth in these regions. Front hinge strained but firmly held. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally bright and generally clean, with only the odd spot.
