'The Fortunes of Nigel' is one of Sir Walter Scott's popular historical novel. Set during the seventeenth century between 1623 and 1624, the novel follows the young nobleman, Nigel Olifaunt, Lord Glenvarloch, on his journey to London to request to the King that he repay his father's loan. Chaotic court life is presented whilst Olifaunt finds his place on earth, making enemies along the way.

Walter Scott is best known for his historical novels and poems, including 'Waverley', 'Ivanhoe', and 'The Lady of the Lake'.

Condition

In half calf. Externally in lovely condition with just very minor rubbing to extremities. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Blanks and endpapers renewed.  Marginal age toning, the odd spot and handling mark. Spotting somewhat heavier to volume one.
