The first French edition of this Treatise on Scrofular Disease (Traité de la Maladie Scrophuleuse) in half red cloth with paper-covered marbled boards.
Translated to French by J. B. Bousquet from the German third edition by C. G. Hufeland, Traité de la Maladie Scrophuleuse is concerned with what we now know as Scrofular, a bacterial infection of the lymph nodes in the neck, also known as mycobacterial cervical lymphadenitis.
With two monochrome illustrations at the rear of the work presenting a patient before and after surgical treatment to the neck area.
Also a known associate of Immanuel Kant, Christoph Wilhelm Hufeland was physician to the King of Prussia.
With notes by J. B. Bousquet, Member of the Society of Medicine of Paris.
Condition
In half red cloth with paper-covered marbled boards. Fading to paper boards and shelf wear with slight loss to extremities. Bumping to cloth spine. Internally, firmly bound. Tear to front and rear paste downs at the joint, binding not affected. Pages age toned. Spotting, heaviest to first and last few.
