Containing nearly nine hundred recipes for every day use, most appearing in print for the first time. With recipes for lemon pickle, browning for all sorts of made dishes, soups, fish, confectionary, puddings and more.
Of most importance in this volume is the first known recipe for a wedding cake covered in marzipan and royal icing, as well as an early use of barbecue.

Rebound in half calf, with marbled paper covered boards. Endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Tide mark to frontispiece. Pages significantly age toned, with the odd spot, and with handling marks throughout.
