A vanishingly scarce copy of this work.

This volume is a critical edition in Latin and Greek of the remaining bucolic poetry of Theocritus, Bion, and Moschus, published at Cambridge by John Smith under academic subsidy "typis ac sumptibus academicis" in 1821.

Condition

Bound in full calf, rebacked with new calf while retaining the original spine laid down. Externally, smart. The odd slight handling mark to boards. Slight creasing to calf at boards, close to joints. Hinges reinforced. Spine rubbed with loss to calf at head and joints. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in slight loss to calf. Slight soiling to boards. Slight offsetting to endpapers. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. pages generally bright and clean if slightly age toned, with damp staining to upper fore edge of first few leaves. the odd spot, heavier to first and last few leaves.
