A fascinating narrative of American writer, judge, superintendent and U.S. Congressman Henry Marie Brackenridge, who in 1817 was appointed secretary of a mission to South America.
He provides descriptions of Brazil, Monte Video, Buenos Aires, Venezuela and Chilli.
Condition
Rebound in half calf, with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, fine. Binding strained to title page, otherwise firmly bound. Light foxing at head of title page, with further instances of significant spotting throughout. Significant closed tear to second leaf, with tape repair to rear.
