1820 The Vicar of Wakefield
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Fine Binding
An exceptionally bright example of this work, which has been rebound in a charming morocco binding accompanied by a custom slipcase.
Illustrated, with a frontispiece, engraved title page and one plate.
'The Vicar of Wakefield' was first published in 1766 and was one of the most popular and widely read 18th century novels among Victorians.
From the library of Allen and Beryl Freer. The Freers were avid art collectors, and acquired quite the selection over the twentieth century, of works mostly bought from the artists. Allen organised many exhibitions of artists he admired and published several works on art.
A wonderful addition to any bookcase.
