Two issues of 'St. James's Chronicle, and London Evening Post', a widely read broadside which started publication in 1761. The newspaper later published as 'English CHurchman', until 2023.
Including issues No. 9834, for Thursday 23rd November to Saturday 25th November 1820, and No. 9836, for Tuesday 29th November to Thursday 30th November 1820.
Including adverts for upcoming publications, such as 'Lectures on Painting', and 'A Journal of a Tour in France, Switzerland, and Lombardy', as well as national and global news, such as articles on two natives of Owyhee (Hawaii) who came to London, news on the movement of the new King George IV, a gang of horse-stealers and murderers who were committed to Maidstone Goal, and more.
Providing a charming insight into life in London during the Georgina era, and the early days of the reign of George IV.
Condition
Unbound, as issued. Leaves are lightly edge worn, with a few small closed tears. Leaves are a little age-toned with light handling marks. Stamp to the head of the first page of both issues.
