    The author Samuel Merriman refers to his own medical practice, with chapters on natural and difficult labour, signs of a dead child, twins children, retention of the placenta, the use of instruments in midwifery, caesarean operations and many other topics.

    A fascinating medical work.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Losses of paper and bumping to back strip head and tail. Spine label age toned. Joints starting, with front joint a touch tender, and rear joint firmly held. Lacking front free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly held, but with first index leaf detached to head. Spotting throughout, most concentrated to first few leaves and plates.
