This charming ornithological volume details the anatomy and physiological characteristics of birds commonly found in Great Britain, including the spotted falcon, cuckoo, king-fisher, goldfinch and nightingale, among many others. 

Written by John Atkinson, who was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in London, a curator of the Museum and a librarian to the Philosophical and Literary Society at Leeds.

Condition

In the original paper covered boards. Externally, with loss of paper to the spine. Edges are worn and boards are marked. Front joint strained. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the occasional spots, heaviest to the first and last couple leaves.
