Pope is considered one of the most prominent English poets of the early eighteenth century. With titles such as: Messiah, An Essay on Criticism, The Rape of the Lock, The Fable of Dryope, and Thebais of Stratius, amongst others. As well as a life of the author.

Condition

Bound in full calf with gilt. Externally, smart with light rubbing and fading to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. A contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper.
