What Our Customers Say...

Description

Early Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Very Scarce

The second edition of this very scarce work.

Illustrated with seven engraved plates. Collated, complete.

First published in 1814, Montagu's work is in actuality somewhat of an anthology of views on various aspects of alcohol.

Including brief mentions of so-called "Hashisha and Kief".

Drawing on medical opinion, anecdotal evidence, and philosophical reflection, Montagu argues that even moderate use of fermented liquors can impair health, cloud judgement, and encourage vice.
