'Narrative of a Voyage to New Zealand' is a faithful report on the author's travels to New Zealand, a vivid exploration of the country. The author was accompanied by Reverend Samuel Marsden, travelling in 1814 and 1815.
This was an early English work on New Zealand, an insightful account which helped to introduce the Western world to the culture of New Zealand.
Volume I is illustrated with one folding map and one folding plate.
Volume II is illustrated with a frontispiece, and two plates.
Collated, Volume I is bound without the frontispiece, and the half-titles.

Condition
In a modern half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards, with renewed endpapers. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots. Title page of Volume I has been restored. Frontispiece of Volume II is torn and repaired. Bound without the frontispiece to Volume I, and the half-titles.
