This autobiographical work was written by William Cowper, the celebrated English poet and hymnwriter. The memoir covers Cowper's early childhood, describing his medical struggles with his eyes and religious upbringing, and includes a selection of letters written by Cowper.
Condition
In the publisher's original quarter cloth over original publisher's boards. Externally generally smart with fading to the spine, rubbing and bumping to the extremities and slight chips to the spine label. A bookplate from 'George Harwood' to the front pastedown with front hinge tender and rear started with an ink inscription to the front free endpaper. Internally firmly bound with age toned pages and the odd spot, heavier to the front and rear.
