This work traces English history from the invasion of Julius Caesar, to the death of King George II.
A historical work from renowned Anglo-Irish novelist, playwright and poet, Oliver Goldsmith, best known for the novel 'The Vicar of Wakefield', and the poem 'The Deserted Village'.
This edition features 'A Continuation to the Treaty of Amiens' by Charles Coote, which was first added to Goldsmith's works in 1809.
Uniformly bound in calf.
Condition
In full calf bindings, with gilt detailing to back strip, and blind tooling to board perimeters. Externally, excellent. Light rubbing to joints. Tail of rear joint of volume II, and head and tail of rear joint of volume IV starting, with board firmly held. Volume I rear hinge, volume II front hinge, and volume III hinges strained, but firmly held. Pages bright and generally clean, with the odd handling mark, and with spots to first and last few leaves.
