What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Very Scarce
A very scarce first edition.
In this speech given by Charles Marsh in the House of Commons in 1813, Marsh opposed a clause in the East India Bill that would allow Christian missionaries greater freedom to travel to India for religious purposes.
His argument is that introducing Christianity would destabilise British rule in India by offending the religious sensibilities of Hindu and Muslim communities, thereby threatening civil order.
