An 1813 edition of this entertaining almanac of dramatic works, thirty-two volumes of which were published in the years up to 1834.

Illustrated with a hand coloured frontispiece, engraved title page, and five further hand coloured plates. Collated, complete.

The short dramatic pieces in this volume are titled: "Die Rosen", "Die beiden kleinen Auvergnaten", "Die Masken", "Der arme Poet" and "Das getheilte Herz". 

Editor August von Kotzebue, a German playwright, was murdered in 1819 by a militant member of the Burschenschaften.

Condition

In the publisher's original decorative paper wrap, with cloth covered slip case. Light rubbing to wrap perimeters, otherwise externally excellent. Bumping to perimeters of slip case, with one joint of slip case starting. Slip case in very good condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally bright, with the odd spot and handling mark throughout.
