New edition. Illustrated with twelve plates. Regarded as one of the most significant works of theological fiction in English literature, this Christian allegory presented as a dream sequence has been translated into over two hundred languages and has never been out of print. The allegory's protagonist, Christian, is an everyman character, and the plot centres on his journey from his hometown, the "City of Destruction", to the "Celestial City" atop Mount Zion. Written by John Bunyan, an English writer and Puritan preacher.

Condition

In the original half straight grained morocco with marbled boards. Externally, worn with rubbing and light loss to the board edges. Marks to the boards with small cracks to the joints. Minor loss to the head of the spine. Front hinge tender. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with scattered spotting throughout and minor age toning to the extremities. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown.
