What Our Customers Say...

Description

Leather Binding

An 1812 edition of Samuel Johnson's The Prince of Abissinia in a straight grain morocco binding.

Originally published in 1759; this edition is from 1812.

Philosophically important, this work questions and explores themes surrounding entitlement. Johnson explores the conquest, exploration and wealth which go on to influence his abolitionist views. Johnson was inspired by Milton's Paradise Lost. He uses similar ideas of journey to understand and explores themes of human purpose. Truth is central to the overall message.
