A French translation of Oliver Goldsmith's History of Greece, originally published in 1774. This translation is based of the twelfth edition in English. This very popular work was subsequently published in many editions and translations, including numerous abridged versions for teaching in schools.

Commencing with the year 87 AD, this informative work explores the history of Greece, including prominent rulers, battles and alliances.

Complete with the folding map of Greece to the front of the work.

Translated by V. D. Musset-Pathay.

Condition

Bound in half calf with marbled paper-covered boards. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to boards, extremities and joints. Spine is a little faded. Front hinge is a touch tender, but holding firm. Endpapers and blanks have been renewed. No half title. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with the odd spot.
